Defending The Sunnah
The general knowledge on Sunnah makes us realize its importance in Islam. As the Divine way of Life our Noble Prophet lived, it makes us regard it as an essential entity we all need as a muslim to live an Islamic Life.
An inquiry was made that must we defend the Sunnah? If No, then our heritage would be lost. Hence, its a must we uphold and protect our heritage by defending the Sunnah. The Sunnah must be part of our life to have a toxic-free Religious Life. Its status in Islam as the second source of Shariah (Islamic Law) also makes it important, it also serves as an explanation to The Holy Book (Al Qur'an). With this few points of ours, we believe you would agree with us that the Sunnah worth protecting.
Moreover, to achieve our aim of protecting the Sunnah, the following steps are to be adhered to:-
*Confirming it as An Authentic Sunnah of The Holy Prophet,
*Digesting its teachings,
*Practicing the Authentic stated Sunnah,
*Preaching and Spreading its lessons.
These could be supported with the Word of Almighty Allah which states "Follow the commandments of the Prophet and (deviate) abstain from what he forbids" (Q59:7). This above verse insist and defend the fact that The Sunnah must be protected. Its a response to the Antagonists who claim to criticize the Sunnah in all ways. They are known as The Anti-Sunnah Group, which an example of them are The Orientalist. They never accept the Sunnah as an essential entity. Its better we believing Muslims hereby heartily accept and defend the Sunnah.
Conclusively, the Sunnah is a way or system in Islam which should not be underestimated for Allah has commended us to regard the Prophet as quintessence. This could be located in The Holy Book (Q33;21);-
"There has certainly be for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day and (who) remembers Allah often". With this its an obligation on all muslims to defend the Sunnah!!!
