Before we discuss anything , we have to explain the meaning of the terminologies ; science and quran.
SCIENCE : this is the knowledge of the natural and physical world based on facts that can be proved
QURAN : this is Allah's word revealed to prophet muhammed s.a.w through angel jubril a.s in arabic language , transmitted in continuity , written as moshaf , whose recitation is an act of worship starting from suratul-fatiha to suratul-nas .
Thus science of the quran can be defined as the general matters relating to the quran .
Historical development
this refers to the stages of development of science of the quran which are as follows :
1. During the life of prophet muhammed ( s.a.w )
2. During the life of companions
3. During the era of book compilation ,concern was first focused on the field of tafseer , since all the various quran sciences are utilized in it
scopes
scope means the areas of coverages and these are :
1. Revelation (wahy )
2. Circumtance of revelation ( asbabun- nuzul )
3.compilation of the quran ( jaamiul-quran)
4. Clear and allergical verses
5. Abrogation (nask)
6. Miracles
7. Hisorian narratives of the quran
8. Explanation
9. Interpretation
10. Grammer of the quran
1.REVELATION (WAHY)
wahy in arabic means a swift transfer of information . Technically , it can be defined as " the words of Allah that are sent down to any of his creatures "

1. " wa awhayna ilaa ummi musa ann ardiihi"
2. " wa inna as-shytaana layuuhuun liyujaadiluuum "
3. "Wa maa yantiqu anil awa , in huwa lla wahyun-yuuhaa "
types of wahyu
there are three types of wahyu, which are :
1. Wahy with heart ( ilham ) ( qur 37 vs 102 )
2. Direct conversation with Allah (qur 4 vs 167 )
3. Angelic wahy ( 42: 51)
General proof for types of wahy
"wa maa kaana libashrin an yukallimuhu llahi illa wahyan , aw min waraai hijaabin aw yursala fayuuha bi-iznihii maa yashaau "
modes of descent
it can also be called the mode of dropping . It goes thus:
ringing of bells - inspiration in the heart - direct discourse with Allah
and
ringing of bell - ange coming in human guise - angel in his original form.
And also
ringing of bells - true dreams........
