HADITH 9
On the authority of Abu HurayraH (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: I heard the messenger of Allah saying:
“Avoid what I have forbidden for you, but what I have commanded you to do, do of it what you are able to do. Indeed the people before you were destroyed by asking a lot of unnecessary questions and their disobedience to their prophets.

This tradition shows that whatever the prophet (SAW) forbidden for you, you should try to stay-away or abstain from it, and try to follow the commandment as your capability, how? i.e. we follow the specific rules that guided the bearing of testimony that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.
1. Follow his commandment
2. And trust him with the given message(s)
3. Staying away from prohibiting actions
4. And not worship Allah except with his order
This ability or capability will be by action of the mankind through obeying Allah with all righteousness.

HADITH 10
Implication Using Unlawful Things
On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) who said the messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “verily Allah is good and He does not accept but what is good. He commanded the believers with what He had already commanded the messengers as saying: “Oh you messenger ! eat of the Tayibbat(all kinds of Halal food) and perform righteous deeds” Q23:51, and the Almighty has said : “ Oh you who believe! Eat of the lawful things that we have provided you” Q2:172. Then he (Abu Hurayrah) mentioned the case of a man who was on a long journey, appears disheveled and covered with dust, stretching his hands to heaven and saying: ‘Oh my Lord! Oh my Lord!’ But his source of food is unlawful, his source of drink is unlawful, his source of clothing is unlawful, and he is already fed with what is unlawful.“How could his prayer be accepted then?!”

This tradition makes mention of a man who worship Almighty Allah a lot, prays to Him always so much and he always be on journey but in spite of that he eats from the unlawful and uses unlawful things somehow. Well, the prayers of such kind of person are not answered by God.
