HISTORIAN METHODOLOGY
Historian methodologies comprises the techniques and guidelines by which historians use primary and secondary source and other evidence and then to write histories in the form of accounts of the past.
REABILITY OF SOURCE
PRIMARY SOURCE—this are original materials that have not been altered or distorted in anyway. Information in which the writer has no personal knowledge is not primary, although it may be used by historians in the absence of primary source. Primary source is also called (original source or evidence).
In context such as historical writing, it is almost always advisable to use primary source and that “ if none are available, it is only with great caution that ( the author) may proceed to make use of secondary source. The historian believes that the primary source have the most connections to the past and that they “ speak for themselves” in way that cannot be captured through the filter of secondary source.

1. Historian biases or prejudices
2. The facts of not being able to place an event in its real context
3. The wish to gain the favor of those in high rank.
4. Exaggeration
5. Ignorance of the laws governing the transformation of human society.
